Share the Spirit Fundraiser
Douglass Community Services-CASA Program, a local nonprofit organization that trains community citizen volunteers to speak on behalf of foster children’s safety and well-being and in their best interests in court, announced today it will join in the national effort to kick off the National CASA awareness campaign with Share the Spirit fundraiser.
Every year, more than 100 children are abused and neglected in Marion, Monroe & Ralls counties. Douglass Community Services – CASA program is offering community members an opportunity to help in the fight against child abuse by participating in Share the Spirit where individuals have three opportunities to win a fully decorated Christmas tree for their home or business. The trees are located at area businesses where people can enter to win by purchasing raffle tickets, 1 for $5, 3 for $10 or 10 for $20. Tickets can be purchased at the following locations: Sawyer’s Creek, UMB Bank of Monroe City, Hannibal Nutrition Center, Douglass Community Services and online at www.hnbbanks.com/secure/douglass.php by selecting the amount, select CASA program and enter the tree of your choice location in the comment box.
This event is to generate awareness & support in the fight against child abuse and neglect. Help CASA ensure that every child in foster care has a committed and supportive CASA volunteer assigned to support them. All proceeds benefit children in Marion, Monroe & Ralls counties.
