Lindsay Spalding-Intern:

Lindsay Spalding, a student at Hannibal-LaGrange University, has been accepted as the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) intern at Douglass Community Services in Hannibal, Missouri. Lindsay will graduate from Hannibal-LaGrange University in December 2011 with her Bachelor of Science in Human Services and plans to attend graduate school to attain a Master's of Social Work. Throughout her schooling, Lindsay was employed at Learning Opportunities/Quality Works, Inc. as a Community Support Coach and Records Technician and served as an intern at Douglass Community Services with the Healthy Families Project and Children of Hope Mentoring. Lindsay is from Monroe City, Missouri and has one daughter named Mya. She enjoys crafts, cooking, being outdoors and spending time with friends and family.

As an intern with CASA, Lindsay will promote awareness of the program and educate the community on the necessity of being the voice for abused and neglected children. She will participate in trainings and seminars to stay up to date on current issues and tactics that will be effective for the program and meet with the areas judiciary to gain knowledge and insight into the rights and privileges of neglected and abused children. Lindsay will also design and partake in fundraising activities and recruitment of volunteers throughout the community.
